The Capitol asked HPES to design and install a new house lighting system for their state of the art digital cinema screens. Modern cinemas are heavily automated so the challenge here was to design a lighting solution that would respond to prompts from cueing and emergency lighting systems, providing precise dimming control from near darkness to full working light and compliant emergency escape lighting.

HPES selected GDS ArcSystem LED fittings controlled using their wireless ArcMesh protocol. This resulted in an excellent quality of light with smooth dimming and a minimum of disruption to the existing decor. Works were completed within four days around a busy screening programme.

The system has performed flawlessly since installation and yielded significant cost savings from energy efficiency gains and the reduced burden of maintenance.
