Glasgow XX Commonwealth Games

Description

Host broadcaster SVGTV retained HPES to act as power consultants during the XX Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, recognising our expertise in designing, inspecting and testing critical temporary power systems for large scale events.

Our team of experts reviewed designs for and made suggestions to improve fault-tolerant power systems across thirteen venues. We were also on hand to monitor their performance under load, using thermographic imaging to identify potential equipment failures and avoid interruptions.

Viewers from all 71 Commonwealth nations and territories were able to watch their sporting heroes compete without interruption. BBC viewing figures state that the games were watched by 9.4 million in the UK alone.

Our work: consultancy, design, inspection, testing and monitoring of temporary power systems.
